I thought for sure that our seats would be better since we made sure to get there early and were the 3rd family to check in at the VIP window. There are 3 sections on each side of the arena and we were in a side section towards the middle. We did purchase the Royalty upgraded VIP seats but I'm not sure it was worth it since I guess almost everyone has VIP seats. The other people who spoke were fine but no one in our party could understand the queen (and we are around many Hispanics day-to-day and don't usually have issues understanding). So glad that it didn't smell like horse! The storyline of the show was a bit difficult to follow since the "queen" had such a thick Hispanic accent. The show was very good and we loved seeing the performance. Beverages and gratuity my own.We went on Christmas day for dinner. Ultimately our Knight did not make it to the final round, 3 cheers for the Yellow Knight! Whether you are going with a group of ladies (or men) for girl’s night out or with your family, there is excitement, fun, great food and drinks, and definitely a memorable experience with reasonable prices for a night out!Īlso, if you haven’t already, enter the Rock Your Vacation Instagram Contest and you can win a VIP trip to Kissimmee worth $10,000 that includes a VIP experience at Medieval Times amongst many other fabulous opportunities! The lights, the cheering, the rumble of hooves all had us captivated. I can’t keep my eyes of the black and white Knight and I forget to photograph his valiant acts with sword and shield. Between my goblet of wine, I sipped the warmth from the coffee that wasn’t being refilled fast enough.īefore we knew it, the Royal Falconer presents his bird for flight and the fighting begins in Act III! Here’s where the excitement builds. I was thankful for the hot meal as the arena was very cold. It was delicious as was the rest of the meal consisting of: garlic bread, oven-roasted chicken, herb-basted potato, spare rib, and for dessert apple turnover. Then I was reminded that you enjoy your meal utensil free, something definitely I’m not used to doing in public short from a tent campground. Tomato bisque is one of my favorite soups and in it’s metal dish, I searched for a place setting to enjoy it. I had a low expectation and it was happily exceeded. I was mesmorized unlike I expected to be. The action is exciting, the costumes are fabulous and both the strength and poise of the gallant horses is a sight to see. I get my flag ready to greet Don lofre Santa Creu, he’s known in prayer to be humble, in service he is loyal, and in battle he is invicible! Act II we meet the 6 Knights and the Royal Court and their beautiful Andalusian Stallions. Act 1 spoke of the bond between Knight and horse. As the lights dimmed and the narrator began, I thought this is really cool. We entered the ceremonial arena and got settled in with our program and our flag ready to cheer. Our eyes sparkled at the grand goblets in blue and in order to enjoy one, you commit to two normal glasses of your favorite potion to just fill the thing! I didn’t hesitate with my medieval wine, when in…Rome, err, medieval Spain! Then we had some photo opportunities with some of the characters and my whole mood started changing, this was going to be fun (maybe it was the goblet of wine and hey is that Dumbledore?…)! Intrigued and inspired, it was time to head to the castle for the pre-show festivities.ĭonned with a crown proclaiming my love for the black and white knight, the girls and I took standard photos (available for purchase after the show) then bellied up to the bar. The dungeon was creepy and we were of course most fascinated by it, this section is for adults only on the tour. We saw the works of basketry, pottery, carpentry, the metalsmith, and a 275 year old loom. We strolled through the house of an architect, the stables, the winery/kitchen, and dungeon. The village is the only one existing in the United States with eight cottages of items and objects from villages in Spain and Mallorca depicting where lords, ladies, and peasants lived 1000 years ago. We arrived just outside the drawbridge of the castle and were led to tour the Medieval Life Village adjacent to the castle. in Florida! And guess what, it’s a fun show from start to finish and women can have a blast too! Los Angeles is obviously closer, but of course due to the most random life I lead my first chance to see the dinner and tournament ended up on a recent trip across the U.S. Two, I thought this may be an event that is more of interest to males, you know with the whole jousting thing. and one in Orlando and in fact there are actually 7 more locations around the US. Why has it taken me all this time to experience a Medieval Times dinner show? Well, for one I only know of 2, one in L.A.
